Build with AI. Keep the judgment.
How Nicholas Howell uses Claude Code and Codex across product design, implementation, review, and delivery.
01A practical path from idea to maintained software
AI is part of the delivery process here. Nicholas uses Claude /design for product design, Claude Code generally for implementation, and Codex for code reviews, image and logo exploration, landing pages, and websites. Some tasks move between both tools.
The purpose is a smaller, more effective delivery team with clear ownership. Engineers still need to understand the system. Designers still need to understand the people using it. A founder still needs to decide which problem is worth solving.
02Follow the workflow
Start with the software development lifecycle, then use the model guide and prompts for the stage you are in.
03Understand the people and commercial decisions
See where experienced engineering and design earn their place, when a smaller external team can work, and how to evaluate a delivery partner.
04See the resources and the evidence
Our workflow preferences are different from a provider capability claim or an independent performance benchmark. The resources page separates those, and the community review links to the Reddit discussions we read.
